• The rest of the trip was, in all ways, a honeymoon for them. They went scuba diving together. They took long walks. They ate and spent lovely evenings with Angela and William. Running through all of it was sex, of course, but it wasn't driving them the way the subconscious attraction had been. Melinda realized that before they had come to the Resort, there had been something there, between her son and herself, that was forbidden, unspoken, and tense. Their repression of it, and the frustrations of living together but being unable to express it had turned their relationship toxic.
• The Resort hadn't forced them to do anything, but simply removed the blindfolds that they had been wearing. Melinda especially.
